We are a completely volunteer group. While there is no monetary compensation, knowing you have made a difference in a family or loved one's life is our reward.
As an integral part of the Sharp County community, we take great pride in our role as a trusted partner and resource. Our dedicated team members are available 24/7 to provide emergency services, conduct search and rescue operations, and offer support and training in search situations. We are deeply committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct in all that we do. A Missing Person is ALWAYS an Emergency!
Funding
Most of our funding comes from our fundraisers and donations. This essential part of our team provides us with equipment, training and supports our search efforts..

We are here for you!
For almost 10 years, we have been here for to answer the call in any situation from searching woods to rivers in aiding a common goal. Searching for lost or missing person to down aircraft to, our team is here to aid other agencies and families in finding those who are dear to each of us.
Founded in 2015 by David L. Woods and incorporated in 2023 as S. C. Search and Rescue, a 501 (c)(3).
We are only as strong as our community.
Training our First Responders
We offer various Search and Rescue National Certifications to Agencies, some of which we can provide at no cost through our Team Grants.
Partnership with our First Responders
Through training with our partners in Law Enforcement and Fire Departments, we feel it proves to only strengthen relationships with each other thus providing for more effective searches.
Our Mission
Our mission is to find lost or missing individuals at no cost to any agency or family. Our Search and Rescue services are and will always remain at no cost to any family, individual or agency requesting us. We remain on a search until every outcome is exhausted or the Authority calls off the search.
Further, we provide free or discounted training to First Responders and our community using nationally proven training and certifications. As an integral part of the Sharp County community, we take great pride in our role as a trusted partner and resource. There is nothing more satisfying than giving your time for a worthy cause. Our team and Corporate Officers are passionate about Search and Rescue. None of our team or officers receive any compensation for their time and in most cases, pay out of pocket for equipment, training and travel.

Interested individuals can visit our website to learn about the various volunteer roles available, from assisting with search and rescue operations to providing administrative support.

Sharp County Search and Rescue is a charitable organization dedicated to providing emergency response rescue services to the local community.
Our team of trained professionals are equipped to handle a wide range of situations, including wilderness search, rescue, natural disaster response, and more.
We also provide National Certification courses to Law Enforcement, Fire Departments, Office of Emergency Management and the public. Anyone wishing to learn more about SAR.
We work closely with local authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of all those in need.
SARTECH or Search and Rescue Technician is a certification issued by the National Search and Rescue Association (NASAR) after training and testing.
NO, National Search and Rescue Association (NASAR) or Arkansas Search and Rescue Association (ASARA) does not endorse individual teams that we are aware of.
However, SCSAR is a member team of ASARA, Dave Gruger is a sitting board member.
Several of our Team members are individual members of NASAR.
We are now to our Law Enforcement and Fire Department partners Search and Rescue Training.
We are working on dates to do a Introduction to Search and Rescue course that will be open to anyone.
As we set these course dates, we will be posting those in our events section along with sign up and payment options.
Either or can request us to help search.
Keep in mind though, if a family requests us to help, we will first speak to the Incident Commander (IC) or Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
Often times, those in charge may have a reason in which they would hold off on asking us to help.
